The 8th annual projection mapping on the Tower of the Sun introduced a new feature, combining mapping and illumination in an unprecedented way for the Kansai region. Under the theme "The Brilliance of the Galaxy" the narrative progresses through the past, present, and future, fantastically depicting the life, prayer, and heart the the Tower of the Sun symbolize. In addition, to celebrate the selection of Japan (Osaka) as the host for the 2025 World Expo, the mapping's ending included a special display projecting the message "Congratulations on the 2025 Expo Decision" onto the Tower of the Sun.
